My name is Stephanie and I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I'm 24 years old and I've always loved photography and wanted to learn more about my camera. I love capturing moments. The reason I decided to leave my full time job as a graphic designer and study photography at FUA was to learn how to capture moments exactly the way I envisioned them.

Why did I choose FUA? Because I really wanted to feel challenged by every aspect of my trip. Initially I had decided to study from the 27th of January until the 17th of May. Then after completing the program, I prolonged my stay in Florence a few more months.

I have so many good memories of Florence and FUA! I'd say from the moment I arrived (literally the moment I stepped out of the airport) and heard the Italian speaking around me, I had tears of joy because finally I was doing something for myself and knew that this trip was going to be the best experience ever.

Since this trip wasn't for college, or my grades, but only to persue personal interests, it was really nice to have the teachers notice my devotion and interest in photography. Two of them chose me for the school exhibition and that was a huge encouragement for me and it just confirmed that my hard work had paid off.

Professionally, I'm nowgetting back into graphic design as I continue to work on my photography. I've been working freelance at events so its giving me experience and exposure. Since making the site for my projects I have been receiving a lot of really positive feedback on my photographs... it is very inspiring and makes me want to keep improving.

One of my most recent projects is the market series of pictures, which were taken in Montreal at the open food market. Its called Le Marché Jean-Talon. Whats cool is that it's actually in the "Little Italy". Its a part of town where all the Italians live and hang out.
