Junior Designer - Shoes - Jimmy Choo

 

Job Description

 

Responsibilities:

 

Design and Research
• Material and colour research.
• Work with the Design Team on CAD and graphics placement.
• Assist the Head of Design in researching design ideas following design brief and brand profile.
• Sketching of all designs providing technical drawings of details and variations when required.
•  Development of design details.
• Attend Trade Fairs as required.

 

Product Development
• To assist Head of Design and document photo fitting and correction on design and constructions.
• Organise and set up technical sheets / documentation per collection.
• Work with suppliers and factories via written and personal visits when requested.
•  Communicated and coordinate with other teams (Accessory / Merchandising) on material and collection collaborations.
•  Manage selected supplier communications between London / product development office.
•  Collaborate with other teams on style / detail / material development.

 

Administration  
• Attend design meetings, merchandising meeting and other relevant meetings related to design, product and commercial reporting as required.  
• Work closely with Merchandising Team in building out collections.
•  Prepare design presentations with the team. 

 

Key Areas:
• Support and assist the development of collections.
• Develop and execute technical drawings to support design ideas under instruction from Head of Design.
• Administration of collection to sample stage (designated part of the collection).
• Communicate and coordinate with teams (Merchandise and Accessory) to ensure collection collaboration.

 

The Ideal Candidate


Qualifications / Education:
• Degree level education in fashion or shoes design or verifiable industry equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
• CAD experience for rendering of designs in various software programmes such as Illustrator, Photoshop and equivalent programmes.
• Proven experience in the design of luxury Women’s footwear.

 

Skills / Knowledge:
CAD experience for rendering of designs for review.
• Specialised in luxury women’s shoes product design.
• Excellent use of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Excellent sense of taste and style.
• Excellent communication skills in person, via phone and email.

 

Characteristics Required:
• Great interpersonal skills.

• Excellent organisational skills.
•  Self-motivated.
