Job Description:
Program assistant is a hospitality position. You will work on site in Tuscany together with a Program Manager to facilitate all phases of each weeklong workshop. Responsibilities include: driving an 8-person van for excursions, performing general hospitality role for each group of 10-30 adults, help serve/clear dinner each evening, load/unload baggage for guests upon arrival/departure, interact with local guides and purveyors, give plenty of individual attention to participants, insure the smooth running of all facets of the program. The job is intense, requires a lot of energy, and an absolute love of Italy.program assistant is a hospitality position. Required skills:
• Experience in the hospitality tourism industry: patient, gregarious, creative and dynamic
• Experience in the hospitality tourism industry: patient, gregarious, creative and dynamic
• Drive a standard transmission van• Have traveled to Italy (preferably Florence or Siena in Tuscany)
Preferred skills (but not necessary):
• Some Italian heritage
• Some Italian heritage
• Speak some Italian
• Interest in the arts
Dates: this position is for 3-4 weeks in September-October with an option for another 4 weeks in the spring.
Location: the Chianti area of Tuscany between Siena and Florence
Compensation: round trip coach airfare to Italy, local transportation, room and board for full session, plus a stipend of $500 per week.
