About the Company:
Villa Lena is a unique agriturismo in the authentic heart of rural Tuscany combining holiday accommodation, a farm-to-table restaurant and a not-for-profit art foundation which runs an artist-in-residence program on the estate. Spread over 500 hectares of untouched woodland, art, culture and nature is at the heart of the project and it provides a diverse and international setting for the guests and artists of Villa Lena. The Foundation’s residency program invites over 50 artists each year to become part of the community life of Villa Lena and o1er creative workshops and events to our guests. The restaurant operates a farm-to-table concept with fresh ingredients grown in the Villa Lena vegetable gardens or sourced from local producers. Along with foraging, truffle hunting, and lots of wild animals Villa Lena has all of the things someone who wants to cook with nature needs. All interns, including those working in the kitchen, garden and with the Art Foundation become part of the Villa Lena community alongside staff, artists and management team. The below is an overview of the role and should answer any questions you may have regarding your time and responsibilities at Villa Lena.
About the Position:
Your role is to support the Chef and Kitchen team in the smooth running of the restaurant and food workshop programs at Villa Lena. A Villa Lena kitchen intern will be a valued member of our small team in Tuscany. This experience provides insight into the dynamics and structure of an agriturismo and farm-to-table restaurant. The focus of the role is dependent on the season and candidate's skill set. You will be provided with a list of duties to highlight typical responsibilities of the position however this may be reviewed at any time and you may be requested to undertake other duties commensurate with the general level of the position within any other department. As a small team, we expect a general muck-in attitude from everyone.

Spoken English. Good spoken Italian. Min 3 months commitment

Accomodation info:
You will be provided with a shared room in the Villa, living alongside the residents and other volunteers and interns, or in nearby staff housing. Rooms are lockable with access granted only tothe person or persons occupying the room, the cleaning staff and Villa Lena management. You will have access to a shared bathroom.
Compensation:
You will be paid a stipend of 350 euros per month and given a volunteer agreement to formalize your position at Villa Lena.
