About the Position: 

This is a paid Hyatt internship program for students participating in the Emerging Leaders program, seeking an understanding of the hospitality industry, sales, and/or business industry. This internship includes exposure to the hotel sales and administrative division and may include exposure to marketing and event planning as well. Supporting Sales Managers with administrative duties including but not limited to:

  • Word processing
  • Account development/management
  • Presentation preparation
  • Social media communications, and client follow up
  • Coordinating client needs and events
  • Maintaining client and group files and systems
  • Fostering exceptional communication including: Liaison to other departments within the Hyatt Centric Portland, Facilitating pre, during, and post client event meetings with hotel staff to ensure high level of service, Contract negotiations and volume/business travel activities, Service efforts including Hyatt Centric Portland's Food & Beverage partner, Masia, Banquet Food, Beverage, and Event Setup, Menu planning, agenda setting, meeting services, Hospitality amenities and special VIP requests, Hosting site inspections as needed, Participating in sales and events meetings along with other staff meetings

 

Requirements: 

  • Continuous authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Capable of a 10 week commitment
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined professional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of computer applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills
  • Service oriented and collaborative team player

 

Duration of placement:

Seasonal 

 

Compensation/Salary

  • $15/hr
